IPADE Hosts First EmTech Digital Latin America

On June 25 and 26, IPADE hosted the first EmTech Digital Latin America. Following the success of the event in San Francisco and other international environments, this was the first time that EmTech, an initiative of the MIT Technology Review, was hosted in Latin America. The event was hosted in partnership with the MIT Technology Review, Opinno – the Spanish-language publisher of the magazine – Amazon Web Services, Visa, and Genesys.

“It’s a pleasure to be here at IPADE, where the most talented businessmen of the country are born, and have the opportunity to dialogue about the future of technology,” said Pedro Moneo, CEO and founder of Opinno.

The most disruptive event of the year, the EmTech Digital Latin America program featured more than 20 Mexican and international speakers during the two-day event, along with breakout sessions and panel discussions. More than 400 pioneers and innovators, business leaders, CEOs, academics, entrepreneurs, R+D decision-makers, and investors gathered together to discuss the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the new digital trends that will impact Mexico and Latin America, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and more.

“Here at IPADE, we are very excited to kick off this great event with such wonderful content focused on innovation and the digital world,” said Dean Rafael Gómez Nava during his welcome address. “We’re constantly seeking ways to stay up to date and connected to the business community, and this first annual EmTech Digital Latin America is part of our efforts to maintain that connection and continue to look towards the future.”

“We’re at a point where society is questioning the role of technology and its impacts,” added Gideon Lichfield, Editor in Chief of the MIT Technology Review. “…It is necessary to create spaces that seek not only to explain what is going on with these new technologies, but that also help decision-makers to ensure that technology benefits more members of society.”

As a focal point for the business community in Mexico, IPADE is proud to have played a role in creating just such a space for local decision-makers. For more information about the event, including the full agenda and speakers, click here.
